Last Friday, we had Duffy Role Model Assembly and our guest speaker was Constable Bryan. We had a great time and received our Duffy Books from Constable Bryan. Happy reading everyone.
Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori Week – Waipareira Line Dancing
This is the first day of Te wiki of te reo Maori, we had visitors from the Waipareira Line Dancing Group. They came to teach our tamariki in the unit and Kiwi 3 some line dancing and we showed them some of our Maori waiata. A great time was had by everyone.
Teachers versus Students – Netball
A fun lunchtime was had by all the players on Friday in the students versus teachers netball game, the students narrowly took out the win.
PRINCIPAL APPRECIATION DAY
The staff put on a morning tea for Whaea Heather on Friday, just to let her know that we do appreciate everything she does for us.
FIRST AID TRAINING – STAFF
Our staff had their first night of First Aid Training on Monday 5 August 2019. A lot of learning was accomplished, more training on Wednesday.
We celebrate Matariki with a breakfast for our school. We invite all whanau to join us for a big breakfast. We had porridge, weetbixs, sausages and eggs, toast, hot milo, fried bread thanks to Whaea Millie. Thank you to all our staff that helped out today to make this breakfast a great success. Our Matariki Breakfast seems to get bigger every year, congratulations Ranui School.
Friday night was amazing. Our tamariki has an awesome time at the Matariki disco, here are some of the photos from the night.

Linda Aspinall our school secretary for the past 34 years has retired. We wish her well in her retirement.

2 MINUTES SILENCE FOR CHRISTCHURCH
On Friday at 1.32pm our school stopped for 2 minutes of silence, in the background you could hear the chant coming from the mosque in Larnoch, was so surreal.
FAMILY FUN NIGHT 2019
Our Family Fun Night was a great success, we had all of our games out, sausage sizzle and ice blocks. Our teachers got to meet the families of our children and have selfies and play games.
